Looking Back on 2017 with Camp Kalsman

Dear Kalsman Community,

What an amazing year it has been for us! It was our largest summer yet with 677 campers joining us not only from across the Pacific Northwest but all of North America. The air was filled with peals of laughter, song, and unbridled joy. Campers spent time climbing the tower, swimming in the pool, helping with the animals at the farm, painting, singing and so much more!

As amazing as this past summer was, next summer looks to be even better! Registration is tracking more than a month ahead of last year and last year was our largest summer ever. We plan to have more than 700 campers at camp this year. Construction is already well under way on the Rita R. Rosen Art Center. With more than 8,000 square feet of program space, we will have six separate studios: general arts, ceramics, culinary arts, dance and drama, music, and digital media. We have already begun hiring staff for the upcoming season and are thrilled to have so many veteran staff excited to return for another summer of a lifetime.

There is no doubt about the power and efficacy of spending a summer at Camp Kalsman. Time at Kalsman is a gift. It is the gift of independence, growth, Jewish identity, and joy.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

L’Shalom,

David Berkman
Director
