Kesher Trip: Hikes, Sunsets, and Tikkun Olam

By Gavi Winer, Kesher Unit Head

What happens when you mix 30 teenagers, some community service, and a beautiful state park for 3 days?

An AMAZING Kesher trip!

At the start of this week Kesher headed off on our 3 day trip full of community service, hiking, and getting to know each other as a group. After volunteering at the food bank at Jewish Family Services of Seattle, we loaded the bus and headed north to Deception Pass State Park. Once there we prepared to camp out for two nights as a group. Over the two days we were at Deception Pass we got the opportunity to watch the sunset, participate in programs led by Counselors, a few meditations with Our Rabbi, and go on a 9 mile hike to Rosario Head. It was amazing! A good time was had by campers and staff as we had the chance to disconnect even more, and grow closer as a unit!
